Concurrent Hands & Controllers

info
This setting is not currently compatible with Body Tracking.

When interacting in the virtual environment, participants can either use their hands or Extended Reality (XR) controllers. Some headsets, such as the Meta Quest Pro, have automatic controller detection and if the participant is using their hands and picks up the controllers will switch to controllers.

When toggled, this setting allows participants to interact with both their hands and controllers simultaneously. This means, participants can use one hand and a controller at the same time for interaction. If the setting is disabled, they will be limited to interacting with either their hands or the controllers, but not both at once.

This could be useful in an object categorization task where you want participants to be able to select an object naturally using their hands and then clicking on a button on the XR controller to associate it to a category.

note
This setting is currently only available on Meta headsets which support hand tracking.
