Assets

Once Labo is set up on your device, it’s time to gather the materials you’ll need to build your Experience Icon Experience: Assets. Think of gathering Assets like gathering stimulus sets in other experiment design tools, they are the basic components you'll use when designing your task.

Maybe you want to display a set of 2D normed images you already use in a desktop task. Or perhaps you’d like participants to interact with 3D models of everyday objects (e.g., like a chair, table, or computer) placed throughout the environment. Your Experience Icon Experience might take place in a forest, a classroom, or even a maze. Whatever experiment you're building, you'll need Assets to bring it to life.

note
Labo isn’t an asset creation tool, you’ll need to import 3D models or environments made elsewhere. Labo transforms the Unity game engine into a no-code experiment design platform for rapidly building dynamic and interactive experiments.

You can find Assets on online marketplaces, or create your own using external tools (see table below for more information). Once you’ve gathered what you need, Labo makes it easy to create custom dynamics and interactions in your Experience Icon Experience in just a few clicks.

Image Assets

When creating your Experience Icon Experience, you might want to include images, for example, to display a custom infographic on a Screen, or to add an Interactive Icon Interactive image that participants can grab and move around within the environment.
