Hand Expressions

Hand Expressions allow you to record any hand pose (e.g., thumbs-up, peace sign, OK sign, or any other random hand gesture) and store it within your Experience. These Expressions are recorded using external cameras on the Extended Reality (XR) headset or with compatible body trackers (check out this table to see if your headset supports hand tracking).

Once a Hand Expression is recorded, you can set up dynamics for when the participant reproduces the Hand Expression. For example, in our template N-Back task, participants can input an answer by making two thumbs-up with their hands. On the backend, this is leveraging a Hand Expression and an Expression Condition. When the participant completes the "Thumbs-up" Hand Expression, the Expression Condition is met and associated Responses are triggered (e.g., Epoch ends, score updated).
