Windows Build

A Windows build is used for any application you want to run on a Windows PC. This includes both PCVR Experience Icon Experiences (for headsets connected to the computer) and traditional desktop applications (run on a monitor with mouse and keyboard).

It is commonly used for Extended Reality (XR) Experience Icon Experiences that require the headset to stay tethered to a PC with a cable. This is because the app depends on the computer’s hardware, such as its graphics card and processor, to run.

When you make a Windows build, it creates an .exe file. This can be used for PCVR setups, such as running through SteamVR or OpenXR, or for regular desktop applications. Windows builds can handle higher-quality graphics, but they only work while the headset remains connected to the computer.
